PBIS

What is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.  PBIS is a school wide initiative that teaches and promotes positive behaviors for the students of GLE.  

Every month we focus on a positive character trait and at the end of the month students have an opportunity to experience an event that focuses on that trait.  For example: if the character trait of the month is empathy, the students learn about what it means to have empathy and how important it is to our daily lives.  At the end of the month they have the opportunity to spend time going to stations and experiencing what life is like for people that are differently abled.  Parents enjoy helping planning and executing these events with staff!  It is a wonderful way to get everyone involved in the students' emotional learning.
